Building Excellence for California’s Incarcerated and Formerly Incarcerated College Students
This two-day summit (April 19-20) is designed to take colleges beyond simply reaching incarcerated and formerly incarcerated college students and into the future as we achieve a shared vision of quality and sustainability.
- Participate in interactive workshops delving into specific challenges and solutions
- Engage with a variety of viewpoints, including those of faculty, administrators, graduates, and stakeholders from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation
- Learn concrete strategies to help students complete degrees
- Address issues beyond the campus, including employment
Topics will cover emerging issues ranging from trauma responsiveness, to technology in custody, to new funding for on-campus efforts. This event is being planned in cooperation with the Renewing Communities initiative.
